Alberto Abad obtained his Degree in Mathematics in 1978 and his Ph. D. in 1984, both from the University of Zaragoza. He carried out his postdoctoral studies at the US National Institute of Standards and Technology with Dr. André Deprit, in 1991.
He has served on the Faculty of Science of the University of Zaragoza, as Profesor Ayudante (assistant professor) (1978-1983), Profesor Titular (associate professor) (1984-present).
He is member of several scientific societies : Sociedad Española de Astronomía (SEA) , Sociedad Española de Matemática Aplicada (SEMA) , Instituto Universitario de Matemática y Aplicaciones (IUMA) of the University of Zaragoza, International Astronomical Union (IAU, Commision 7, Celestial Mechanics).
His main research interests are in Celestial Mechanics, Dynamical Systems, Astrodynamics and Symbolic Computation, where he has coauthored about 70 scientific papers, and written several books. He participated in many research projects either as researcher of principal investigator, and in several projects in collaboration with industries.
